Lander Veterinary Clinic and Pfizer Animal Health Partner Donate to Local FFA Chapters
More Than $2.38 Million Donated Nationally Through the Program Since 2008
NEW YORK — November 12, 2010 — This spring, the Lander Veterinary Clinic in Turlock, Calif., made significant contributions to area FFA chapters.
“Those of us who have been around FFA know what they stand for,” says Gary Daley, DVM, Lander Veterinary Clinic. “The kids who take part in the program can really excel and better prepare themselves for their future careers and we want to stand behind that.”
This spring alone, Pfizer Animal Health and its retail partners across the country contributed more than $830,000 to help support FFA programs and fund the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) Foundation/Pfizer Veterinary Student Scholarships. Since its inception in 2008, the total amount donated through the Pfizer Animal Health FFA/AABP support program is more than $2.38 million.
The funds provided by Lander Veterinary Clinic supported travel to FFA conferences and competitions such as parliamentary procedure and judging.
“We supported schools where most of our clients went or where they have kids going now,” Daley says. “We have maintained good relationships with all of the chapters over the years and felt like this was a good way to keep the funding local.”
More than 1,100 veterinarians, animal health suppliers and dealers from across the country participated in the program, which offered a rebate on Pfizer Animal Health cattle products purchased during the first part of 2010. Participating partners were able to direct the funds to any local FFA chapter or the AABP Foundation/Pfizer Veterinary Student Scholarship Program.
The program is part of Pfizer Animal Health’s Commitment to Veterinarians, an initiative supporting veterinarians through training and education, research and development, and investment in the future of the veterinary profession.
