Pfizer Animal Health Cattle Technical Services Adds Two Nutritionists

MADISON, N.J. — Nov. 1, 2011 — Pfizer Animal Health is expanding the expertise and services available to its customers by adding two nutritionists to the Cattle Technical Services team — Matt Cravey, Ph.D., and Blaine Corners, Ph.D.

“We expect our customers will really value the expertise from these deeply experienced professionals,” says Roger Saltman, DVM, MBA, group director, Cattle Technical Services, Pfizer Animal Health. “Drs. Cravey and Corners are well-known nutritionists who will augment our existing technical team in helping our customers develop more comprehensive animal health and performance improvement programs.”

Dr. Cravey lives in Amarillo, Texas, and will provide technical support for Pfizer Animal Health’s beef performance enhancement portfolio, including implants and feed additives. Dr. Cravey earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University and his doctorate in ruminant nutrition from Oklahoma State University. He served as a beef cattle specialist and faculty member at Texas A&M and is an adjunct faculty member at West Texas A&M University. He is an officer on the board of the Plains Nutrition Council and is a member of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists and the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

Dr. Corners is located in Omaha, Neb., and will assist Pfizer Animal Health customers in the Midwest and Northern Plains. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Murray State University. After 11 years in agricultural sales, Dr. Corners earned his doctorate in ruminant nutrition from the University of Missouri where his research focused on protein nutrition and corn co-product feeding. For six years, he served as a field technical services nutritionist as well as a manager of beef technical services and products for ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc., in Quincy, Ill.

“We are excited to have these two leading nutritionists join our team to enhance the depth and breadth of the knowledge we can offer to help our customers meet their animal health and performance enhancement needs,” Dr. Saltman says.
