Pfizer Animal Health Sponsors Society of Animal Welfare Administrators

MADISON, N.J. (November 6, 2010)—In a move to make a significant impact on the welfare of animals everywhere, Pfizer Animal Health will be a lead sponsor at the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) annual conference being held November 7-9 in Kansas City, MO.

The sponsorship is one of many facets of Pfizer Animal Health’s Commitment to Veterinarians—which offers support through training and education, research and development, and investing in the future of the veterinary profession—and includes advocacy and education for animal care.

“It’s important that we do our part to help leaders in animal health,” said David Haworth, DVM, director of Global Alliances for Pfizer Animal Health. “We share a common goal to improve the health and welfare of animals across the country.”

SAWA, a nonprofit organization comprised of professional administrators of organizations involved in the animal care and control field, sees an opportunity to advance its mission by bringing together industry leaders in the humane movement.

“SAWA fills an important role in this deserving segment of animal health,” said Haworth. “We look forward to a continued partnership that focuses on new ways to keep our furry friends safe and healthy.”
