Pfizer Animal Health Territory Manager Craig Dybedahl Earns Honorary FFA Degree

NEW YORK— Sept. 27, 2010 — Pfizer Animal Health Territory Manager Craig Dybedahl of Colton, S.D., was recently selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree. The award is given to those who advance agricultural education and FFA through outstanding personal commitment.
“I am absolutely honored to receive this award,” says Dybedahl, a former agricultural education teacher and South Dakota state FFA officer. “FFA has provided the foundation to my career in many respects. From my first experience Creed speaking as a Greenhand, FFA provided the confidence and skills I needed for my future career.”
Dybedahl will travel to Indianapolis to receive the honor during an onstage presentation at the 83rd National FFA Convention, Oct. 20-23, 2010.
The South Dakota FFA Association nominated Dybedahl to honor his deep passion for agriculture and agricultural education. This is evident in his service as a member of the South Dakota Agricultural and Rural Leadership (SDARL) board, on which he is currently serving as president. In addition, Dybedahl has served on the Tri-Valley FFA Ag Education Advisory board, South Dakota Ag in the Classroom board and South Dakota Ag Education Advisory board.
In his current position, Dybedahl has been critical in helping connect local chapters and the South Dakota FFA Association to the Pfizer Animal Health FFA Support Program, which offers veterinary clinic and distributor partners the opportunity to donate a 1 percent rebate on Pfizer Animal Health cattle products to any local FFA chapter(s) or to the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) Foundation/Pfizer Veterinary Student Scholarship Fund. Since its inception in 2008, the total amount donated through the Pfizer Animal Health FFA/AABP support program is more than $2.38 million.
The Pfizer Animal Health FFA Support Program is part of Pfizer Animal Health’s Commitment to Veterinarians, an initiative supporting veterinarians through training and education, research and development, and investment in the future of the veterinary profession.
“The FFA support program is an excellent support program and has gone far beyond what I ever dreamed it could do in South Dakota. This program is very valuable to local FFA chapters in our state, and I’ve seen the difference firsthand with FFA members and ag teachers in my area,” Dybedahl says. “There’s not a week that goes by that you don’t know someone from some FFA-related activity, whether it’s at an organization or a veterinary clinic that I call on. The people you know there really are the future of agriculture.”
