Zoetis Announces NCBA Trade Show Sweepstakes Winner

Tennessee cattleman, ag educator wins $5,000 toward WW Livestock Equipment.

PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 10, 2017 — Zoetis celebrates the winner of its “Gain Value With Zoetis” on-site giveaway at the Cattle Industry Annual Convention and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show held in Nashville. Zoetis honored Rod Barnes, a high school ag educator and cattleman from Selmer, Tennessee, with a $5,000 voucher toward WW Livestock Equipment. Barnes grew up raising cattle and growing tobacco. He now runs a commercial operation and embryo transfer program with Angus and SimAngus cattle.

“I am so thrilled. To win something this huge is almost unbelievable,” Barnes said. “It’s almost like a gift from heaven; we really needed this.”

At Barnes’ cattle operation, work is already well underway to construct bull pens from durable Chaparral series panels, available at WW Livestock Equipment.

Through a partnership with WW Livestock Equipment, Zoetis implemented a full-size working cattle scale inside the company’s NCBA booth. With an interactive environment, Zoetis colleagues conversed with producers on topics to benefit cattle health and overall profit for cattle operations.

”WW Livestock is proud to have partnered with Zoetis at the 2017 NCBA convention,” said Sam Eck, sales manager with WW Livestock Equipment. “Zoetis and WW Livestock both offer quality products that help ranchers produce the world’s finest beef. Congratulations to the winner of the WW Livestock scale or other products, and thank you to Zoetis for letting us be a part of this year’s promotion.”

Barnes enjoyed the educational format of the booth with specific focal areas. The materials and conversations served as not only good reminders but also helped open his eyes to new thinking surrounding cattle health and profitability.

“I like things that stimulate my thinking, and they had one of the better booths in the whole NCBA trade show,” Barnes said. “Zoetis has a positive reputation around this area, and the products are top of the line. We’re longtime Zoetis customers and have been using Dectomax for years.”

For each station completed, attendees received one entry into the drawing for a $5,000 grand prize toward WW Livestock Equipment. Following the convention, all booth participants could earn an additional entry by completing an email survey.

“Zoetis is committed to working with producers to help them be successful in protecting the health of their animals and improving overall profitability,” said Leona Ferguson, cattle parasiticides and beef franchise marketing manager at Zoetis. “Our commitment to continued improvement and education shows through our sponsored events like Cattlemen’s College Hands-on Demonstration, Cattlemen’s College Sessions and CattleFax Seminar.”
