Home / NEWS & MEDIA / Zoetis Partners with Customers to Support FFA, AABP, AAEP Students in 2015
Industry Support Program donated $1.3 million in 2014
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., March 10, 2015 — Returning for its seventh year, Zoetis partners with its veterinarian and dealer customers to support agricultural and veterinary students around the country through its Industry Support Program.
Through April 30, 2015, a portion of funds from eligible purchases of cattle and equine products from Zoetis will be directed to local FFA chapters and/or veterinary student scholarships through the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) foundations on behalf of local veterinarians and animal health suppliers.
In previous years, more than 1,000 veterinarian and dealer customers from across the country have participated in the program.
Support for Agricultural Students
In 2014, Canyon FFA from Texas received support from the Industry Support Program to help fund chapter programs.
“FFA students around the country are making a difference to improve the agriculture industry, and the donations offered to them can leave a lasting effect on people and communities,” said Jeff Klose, an agriculture science teacher and department chair of career and technical education at Canyon High School in Texas. “The money from the Zoetis Industry Support Program helps students inform the public about agriculture.”
Commitment to Future Veterinarians
John David Nicholson, a recent graduate from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, has seen the impact this Zoetis program and an AABP Foundation scholarship have.
“Zoetis is willing to help the future of veterinary medicine and that speaks very highly of the core values of the company,” Nicholson said. “Zoetis not only demonstrates its commitment in scholarship form but also by providing opportunities for students that they may not have had without their support.”
Support of FFA, the AABP Foundation and the AAEP Foundation through the Industry Support Program is a component of Commitment to Veterinarians™; a Zoetis initiative supporting veterinarians through training and education, research and development, and investing in the future of the veterinary profession.
“Many at Zoetis and our partners were involved in these organizations, so this is our opportunity to give back and directly impact these students,” said Rob Kelly, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Livestock Business at Zoetis. “Supporting agriculture leaders today helps ensure the future of the industry. The Zoetis Industry Support Program is helping strong traditions grow stronger.”
