CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP® is the only killed bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) vaccine that is labeled to protect both the cow and unborn calf against BVD reproductive diseases.* Plus, it’s safe for any cow, at any time, regardless of vaccination history.

Maternal Protection

CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP® provides protection against bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV).1,2

BVDV Type 1 Challenge1
BVDV Type 2 Challenge2

Fetal Protection

CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP provides demonstrated protection against BVD persistent infection (PI) in calves.1,2

BVDV Type 1 Challenge1
BVDV Type 2 Challenge2

In addition to BVDV protection, CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP reduces abortions following a virulent infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) challenge.3

Delivering More Ways To Protect Unborn Calves

A three-year study evaluated the efficacy of prebreeding vaccination with BOVI-SHIELD GOLD FP® 5, a modified-live vaccine (MLV), and then annual revaccination with the same product or a transition to CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP 5 at pregnancy check.4

Sequential infectious exposure to BVD virus Types 1a, 1b and 2 followed by IBR virus subjected pregnant cows to a very severe reproductive challenge:

  • The challenges resulted in fetal infection of 100% (15/15) of the control group with BVD or IBR virus.
  • In 47% (7/15) of the aborted calves, both IBR and BVD virus were isolated.4
  • Both vaccine programs provided significantly high levels of protection against virulent BVD and IBR exposure (P < 0.0001).4

While BOVI-SHIELD GOLD FP can provide an effective pregnant cow vaccination program, if you need more flexibility, CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP offers an any cow, anytime option with no loss in vaccine efficacy for either IBR abortion or BVD Types 1 and 2 persistent infection (PI) when it follows BOVI-SHIELD GOLD FP in heifers.

CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP vaccines are safe for any cow, any calf, anytime. Depending on the vaccine you choose, you can expect CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP® 5 L5 to:

  • Aid in preventing:
    • Abortion caused by IBR
    • BVDV PI calves
    • Respiratory disease caused by IBR, BVD Types 1 and 2, parainfluenza 3 (PI3) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus
    • Leptospirosis caused by Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae and L. pomona

CATTLEMASTER GOLD FP® 5 L5 is the only Killed BVD Vaccine to offer Fetal Protection
