UltraChoice® CD is a killed Clostridium perfringens Type C and D Bacterin-Toxoid combined with a water-soluble adjuvant, Stimugen®, to enhance the immune response.

  • Uses

    Aids in the prevention of enterotoxemia and enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens Types B, C and D.

    Key Features

    • Helps provide protection in a tissue-friendly 2mL dose against enterotoxemia and enteritis caused by CI. perfringens Types B, C and D.
    • Helps prevent clostridial diseases, which continue to be of major economic importance in cattle. Clostridium bacteria are universally present in soil and the intestinal tract of cattle. They produce potent toxins that can result in death of otherwise healthy animals, often with great speed.
    • Contains Stimugen, a patented, water-soluble adjuvant that enhances the immune response with minimal risk of injection-site reactions.
    • No age restrictions on use.
    • Also approved for use in sheep (see complete label instructions).
    • Subcutaneous (SC) dose is 2mL followed by a second dose given four to six weeks later.  Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
  • Precautions

    Store at 2° - 7°C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Contains formalin as a preservative.  Temporary local swelling at injection site may occur after administration.  As with many vaccines, anaphylaxis may occur after use. Initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended and should be followed with appropriate supportive therapy.
