KETASET can be used in cats for restraint or as an anesthetic for treatment/diagnostics


KETASET is a rapid-acting, nonnarcotic, nonbarbiturate agent for anesthetic use in cats.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: For use in cats only. Do not use KETASET in cats suffering from renal or hepatic insufficiency. Any pre-existent hepatic or renal pathology or impairment of function can result in prolonged anesthesia. Apnea, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, and death have occasionally been reported with ketamine used alone and more frequently when used in conjunction with sedatives or other anesthetics. Respiratory depression may occur following high doses of KETASET. Adverse reactions reported include emesis, salivation, vocalization, erratic and/or prolonged recovery, spastic jerking movements, convulsions, muscular tremors, hypertonicity, opisthotonos, dyspnea and cardiac arrest.
