CYTOPOINT™ removes the burden of daily treatments for owners and dogs1

DUBLIN, male, age 9 years, Newfoundland

Veterinarian: Dr Dan Hebert, Duxbury Animal Hospital, Duxbury, MA

Dublin’s owner does important work that makes daily treatment schedules impractical

Presentation and history

Dublin had been suffering for years with rashes on his stomach and ear infections. His constant discomfort led him to gnaw at his skin compulsively. Dublin’s owner assumed his issues stemmed from environmental allergies.

Owner’s perspective

Dublin had always been a happy and intuitive dog who enjoyed his therapeutic visits with patients with Alzheimer’s disease in nursing homes. Dublin’s owner was frustrated that Dublin continued to suffer with his skin disease. She felt burdened by an ineffective, constantly changing treatment plan that interfered with Dublin’s meaningful work. Her exhausting schedule also made it extremely challenging for her to administer daily treatments.

“There was never a solution or something proactive to do. It was always reactive.”

— SherryAnn Quindley, 9/7/16

Dublin Before and Dublin After

Dublin’s skin is fully healed, and he has regained his happy disposition

Treatment decision

Dr Hebert diagnosed the cause of Dublin’s persistent itch as atopic dermatitis, and gave him an injection of CYTOPOINT, a long-term canine dermatitis treatment. He also prescribed CONVENIA® (cefovecin sodium) for the pyoderma, and a long-acting treatment for the otitis.

Treatment result

Dublin made a full recovery and continues to do well. He sleeps through the night and is back to his happy, active lifestyle and beach trips. Dublin and his owner can now enjoy life, free from the distraction of canine atopic dermatitis and the inconvenience of daily medication administration.

Dublin Video

“I watch him now, and he is back to being that fun-loving dog…I know that he’s going to be okay. And that peace of mind is literally priceless.”
