LUTALYSE® (dinoprost tromethamine) Sterile Solution is the most "veterinarian recommended and &producer used prostaglandin in the market.1 Artificial insemination synchronization programs with LUTALYSE can improve breeding success. Producers and veterinarians today have more options for using LUTALYSE in reproduction programs than ever before. FACTREL® Injection (gonadorelin injection) is now approved for use with LUTALYSE to synchronize estrous cycles to allow for fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) in lactating dairy cows.
LUTALYSE is the only prostaglandin approved to be used with EAZI-BREEDTM CIDR® (progesterone) Cattle Inserts in dairy heifers and dairy cows.
Zoetis is the world leader in dairy reproduction research and support and its products are supported by industry-leading sales and technical services.

For estrus synchronization, inject 5 mL LUTALYSE intramuscularly (IM) either once or twice at 10- to 12-day intervals.
For treatment of unobserved estrus, inject a 5 mL dose IM. If estrus has not been observed by 80 hours after injection, breed at 80 hours; if the cow returns to estrus, breed at the usual time relative to estrus.
For postpartum treatment of pyometra, inject a dose of 5 mL IM at signs of pyometra (presence of a corpus luteum on the ovary and uterine horns containing fluid but not a conceptus based on palpation).
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR LUTALYSE: Women of childbearing age and persons with respiratory problems should exercise extreme caution when handling LUTALYSE. LUTALYSE is readily absorbed through the skin and may cause abortion and/or bronchiospasms, therefore spillage on the skin should be washed off immediately with soap and water. Aseptic technique should be used to reduce the possibility of post-injection clostridial infections. Do not administer LUTALYSE in pregnant cattle unless cessation of pregnancy is desired. See full Prescribing Information, here.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR FACTREL INJECTION: FACTREL Injection is for use in cattle only. Please see full Prescribing Information, here.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR EAZI-BREED CIDR: Avoid contact with skin by wearing protective gloves when handling EAZI-BREED CIDR inserts. Do not use in heifers of insufficient size or age for breeding or in cattle with abnormal, immature, or infected genital tracts. Do not use inserts more than once.
