Vomiting is a nonspecific clinical sign that could have a variety of causes like medications or diseases. CERENIA Injectable addresses the cat’s immediate needs by treating vomiting and allows you to identify and treat the underlying cause. (Use in cats 4 months and older.)

Vomiting is a nonspecific clinical sign that could have a variety of causes like medications or diseases. CERENIA® (maropitant citrate) Injectable addresses the cat’s immediate needs by treating vomiting and allows you to identify and treat the underlying cause. (Use in cats 4 months and older.)

Study Design:

  • Blinded, placebo-controlled study

  • Cats had at least 2 vomiting episodes in previous 48 hours with 1 episode in previous 24 hours

  • Randomly assigned to CERENIA (1 mg/kg SC) or saline (O.1 mL/kg SC)

  • CERENIA Injectable Solution or placebo administered at least once, then re-administered as needed at the investigator’s discretion for up to 5 days

Safety Results:14-17

  • 67% of CERENIA-treated cats experienced a mild response or no response to injection

  • None of the CERENIA injections resulted in a reaction at the injection site 24 hours post-treatment

  • The most common side effects noted were dehydration, fever/pyrexia and lethargy
