Be Sure You Help Control The Spread of Flu

FluSure® Pandemic Vaccine

For vaccination of healthy swine, including pregnant sows and gilts, 3 weeks of age or older against swine influenza A virus subtype pH1N1.

Coverage

Helps producers protect their herds from the pandemic (pH1N1) strain of swine influenza.

  • FluSure® Pandemic is the ONLY commercial vaccine to help protect pigs from pandemic H1N1. Zoetis first recieved a USDA conditional license in 2009; full license was gained in 2010.

Studies have shown that antibodies against a homologous (same) strain of swine influenza circulating in pigs helps provide optimum immunity.1 FluSure Pandemic contains the strain that is known to be circulating in North American pigs.2

Amphigen®, the adjuvant in FluSure Pandemic, means excellent syringeability at any temperature, which makes vaccination easier and encourages compliance with Pork Quality Assurance® standards.

Dosage and Administration

Healthy swine 3 weeks of age or older should receive two 2 mL doses administered intramuscularly approximately three weeks apart. In young pigs, vaccinate after maternally derived antibodies to swine influenza have declined.

  • 50 doses (SKU# 5042)
  • 250 doses (SKU# 5043)

AASV Recommendations

The American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) recommends vaccination for swine influenza to control clinical signs of disease due to swine influenza.

AASV recommends vaccination for pH1N1 if scientific evidence demonstrates that vaccination reduces viral shedding and the risk of transmission to pork production personnel.
